How can communities, civil society, and public institutions run online deliberations that are truly inclusive, structured, and impactful? ORBIS invites you to an online workshop dedicated to AI-powered tools designed to support high-quality public debate and turn complex discussions into clear, usable outcomes.

What you’ll discover
During the workshop, participants will explore how new AI-enabled deliberation tools can help make sense of large amounts of public input, identify key themes and arguments, and support more informed collective decisions. Through natural language processing and data analysis, these solutions can transform fragmented conversations into structured insights—useful both for facilitators and decision-makers.

The ORBIS Toolkit
The workshop will introduce the ORBIS Toolkit, a set of digital solutions developed within the project to support different phases of deliberation:
-
BCause — a platform for thoughtful, structured dialogue, designed to encourage participation and constructive exchange.
-
PolisOrbis — a tool for real-time opinion mapping, helping groups visualize areas of agreement and disagreement as discussions evolve.
-
Democratic Reflection — a data-driven engagement tool that supports the analysis and interpretation of deliberative outputs.
Together, these tools aim to strengthen deliberative processes by making them easier to facilitate, easier to understand, and more actionable.
Who should attend
This workshop is especially relevant for:
-
Community organizers and facilitators
-
Civil society organizations and advocacy groups
-
Local and regional administrations experimenting with participatory processes
-
Anyone interested in designing inclusive dialogue and improving how collective input is gathered and used
Why it matters
Online deliberation can generate rich and diverse contributions, but it often produces large volumes of information that are difficult to synthesize. The ORBIS tools address this challenge by helping transform extensive public input into meaningful insights—supporting better discussions, clearer outcomes, and stronger connections between citizens’ perspectives and high-level policymaking.
