Pilot 3

Young Thinkers and EU decision-makers

Organisations

The Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) is an independent think-tank based in Brussels, focusing on EU policy research. CEPS’s pilot revolves around its Young Thinkers initiative.

Scale

CEPS’s Young Thinkers are from all over the globe, and the pilot activities will take place online and in person in Brussels.

Context

CEPS’s Young Thinkers exchange with policymakers and practitioners in closed-door discussions, participate in a Brussels trip, and train their writing and public speaking skills to draft policy publications and feature in events like CEPS’s annual flagship event: Ideas Lab.

Challenges

The ORBS tools will help inject more deliberation and knowledge exchange into the Young Thinkers programme, and will help us track our discussions remotely. We also want to try ORBIS tools in our annual Ideas Lab with hundreds of policymakers and policy experts to gauge audience reactions.

Participants

Young Thinkers are recruited annually. Typically they are students and young professionals under the age of 30, many of whom are already interested in EU governance and policymaking, from all over the world (not just the EU).
