Milan, Italy – The Orbis Project Partners convened on March 27 and 28, 2023, for the inaugural Consortium Meeting. ORBIS, funded by the Horizon Europe research program, aims to revolutionize Deliberative Democracy by fostering increased participation, co-creation, trust, and transparency at all levels.
The Politecnico di Milano leads and coordinates the project, which will unfold over a three-year timeframe, supported, developed, and enriched by the activities of the organizations comprising the Consortium.
During the meeting, the partners engaged in discussions surrounding technological and methodological aspects, experimentation, and scalability across various levels to lay the foundation for their collaborative work. Topics addressed included deliberative participation and co-creation on a large scale, leveraging AI-enhanced tools to facilitate deliberative participation across diverse settings, generating evidence-based democratic models stemming from citizen deliberation processes, and demonstrating the measurable impact of these innovations in real-world scenarios.
Through ORBIS, a comprehensive and forward-thinking exploration of Deliberative Democracy takes place, pushing the boundaries of citizen involvement and paving the way for a more inclusive and responsive democratic framework.
Stay tuned for further updates on the groundbreaking work carried out by the ORBIS consortium as they strive to redefine the future of democracy through participatory and co-creative practices.
